Billy Grimes

Billy Grimes, 88, finished his journey to heaven at home onJuly 8, 2016. Billy worked proudly for 30 years as head clerk in shipping forWestern Electric, followed by 20 years as a custodian for the Southwest Churchof the Nazarene. He was an Army Veteranduring the occupation of Japan. He was a musician, gardener, fisherman, andmost notably, a resounding storyteller.

Mr. Grimes is survived by his wife, Nelda; daughter, CammieMorehouse; nephew, David (Rose) Hoaglan; step-children, Sean (Kaye) Carter,J.R. (Shannon) Carter, and Erin (Tony) Mason; grandchildren, JonathanMorehouse, Jeff Barnett, and Jackie Atkinson; as well as numerousgreat-grandchildren.

Billy was a member of Southwest Church of the Nazarene for severalyears. Services will be held at the church at 4797 Tincher Rd, Indianapolis, IN46221 on July 13, 2016 at 12:00pm Dr. Keith Grove officiating, friends andfamily may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Additional visitationwill be held at the church on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00p.m. A loving husband, gentle father,nurturing uncle and beloved friend will be laid to rest Wednesday, July 13,2016 at Fairfield Friends Cemetery. Memorialcontributions may be given the church building fund. Flanner and Buchanan – Decatur are handlingarrangements.
