Betty Jo Averittewas born to Joseph and Martha Averitte on September 30, 1949. Shewas a free spirited individual that truly loved Jesus Christ and alwaystried to advise and teach anyone she met to walk in the footsteps ofChrist.
She was a graduate ofHarry E. Wood High School. She worked at the Indianapolis Housing Authoritywhere she shined in the Collections department. She thendecided to spend the later years of her life working and eventuallyretiring as a flight attendant for American Airlines.
She was a veryimaginative and creative individual. Betty enjoyed fine arts, as wellas, such things as: plays, drawing, poetry, painting,reading, crocheting and crafting. She also loved designingher own personal greeting cards.
She was a devoted memberof College Avenue Church of Christ and a devout Christian for over 40years. She enjoyed serving as a teacher and mentor to many of theyoung people in the congregation. She was a daily bible reader anddisplayed great pride in her memorization of the scriptures.
Betty passed on December27, 2015 and is survived by her siblings: Joseph Jr., Joseph CharlesAnthony, Anthony Averitte, Sr. and Velma Howard.
Hersurvivors also include her 7 children: Lawrence, Lamont, Kia, Scott,Solomon, El and Philip. She is also survived by a host ofgrandchildren and a great grandchild.
