Betty Jean (Martin) Kraft

January 21, 1937 — February 8, 2014

Betty Jean (Martin) Kraft, 77, of Greenwood, and an Indiana resident for 62 years, went to meet her Lord and Savior February 8, 2014 in Kissimmee, FL. She was born January 21, 1937 in Gainesboro, TN, the daughter of James Stanton and Hattie Mae (Stafford ) Martin. Betty retired from Western Electric. She was a member of Grace Assembly of God in New Whiteland, IN, and was also a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. Betty deeply loved her family, as well as music, especially Elvis, and dancing. She was preceded in death by her parents, her step-son, Donald L. Kraft, and her brothers, Joe Edward Martin and James Kenneth Martin. Betty is survived by the love of her life for more than 55 years, her husband Donald A. Kraft, her children, James Robert Flatt, Deborah Younger (Leo Scott), David Thomas Kraft, and Linda Carol Kraft; her step-children, Pamela Nelson, Gary Kraft, Cynthia Hart (Charles), Karen Calbow (Richard), Diana Hiatt, and William Kraft; 20 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. A celebration of Betty Jean’s life will be on Saturday, February 15 at 1 PM at Flanner and Buchanan- Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington Street, with visitation from 11 AM until service time. Entombment will be in Washington Park East Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Assemblies of God World Missions, Betty Jean Kraft Memorial Fund, 1445 N. Boonville Avenue, Springfield, MO 65802-1894.
