Beth Ann Hickman

December 4, 1964 — September 18, 2022

Indianapolis, IN

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Beth Ann Hickman (Hutson) of Indianapolis. Beth died unexpectedly in her home at the young age of 57. Beth left this earth on September 18th, 2022 to be in glory with our Lord. Beth was a loving mother, wife, sister, and grandmother to her family and the best of friends with basically everybody else she encountered.

Beth was born on December 4th, 1964 in Indianapolis, IN. Beth graduated from Beech Grove High School in 1983. Beth enjoyed singing as a member of the Beech Grove Jubilaires. During her time at Beech Grove HS, she met the love of her life, her high school sweetheart James Hickman. Beth was an avid bowler and competed in many race-walking events, including the Indianapolis Mini-Marathon.

Jim and Beth were married on April 5, 1986 at Beech Grove First Christian Church. Together, they had two super-awesome children who owe everything to the kindness and grace that flowed endlessly from Beth. She loved racing, all Indy sports teams, baseball, and the IU Hoosiers. She loved to travel, taking many trips with her family when her kids were young and many with them as adults. Beth worked her entire career at Citizens Energy Group, joining the illustrious Quarter Century Club, finally retiring after more than 30 years of service in February of 2020.

Beth actively lived out her Christian faith. As a member of LifePoint Church, Beth volunteered with the nursery services and taught Sunday School for many years. One of Beth’s proudest accomplishments in life was ensuring that both of her children had a relationship with Jesus Christ. Amongst her favorite personal roles were that of family organizer and family historian, and a new one for her, as Gram to her grandson Jamie. Beth was a beacon of hope to all the lost, a true light in this world that will be missed by all those she touched. Beth is survived by her husband James “Jim” Hickman, son Dustin Hickman, daughter Lindsey (Joel) Hall, her mother Judy Hutson, sister Juli Hutson, close family friend Natalie Raymond, and her grandson Jamie Hickman. Beth was preceded in death by her father Robert “Bob” Hutson.
