Benjamin Dean “Benji” Shelton 47 of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away unexpectedly September 13, 2022. He was born on April 6, 1975, in Indianapolis, IN to Bennie D. Shelton and Emma S. (Cagg) Collins. Benji, as he was affectionately called, worked for many years with the Wheaton Moving Van Lines. He was loved by so many and will be dearly missed. Benji was a good man, he was a trying man. He loved his kids and granddaughter, his mom, Mandee, his brother and sister, and all his family. He was hard working, a provider, money driven for a better life, and was not built for backing down. Benji loved lyrics of songs, music went through him to the places he could not go or the things he could not say. He loved picking his guitar and took every chance to sing and dance with Mandee. The mark he left on life will be unforgettable. If he owed you a dollar because he did not have change you knew!!
Benji loved wind therapy he could jump on a motorcycle and ride! He loved keeping the wheels rolling! He loved football, good food, and family!
Benji was preceded in death by his father Bennie Shelton and sister-in-law Susie. He is survived by his life partner and love of his life Mandee Whitlock, his children; Jessica Shelton (Brandon), Alisha Shelton (Lorianne), Ben Shelton, and Macee “Mac” Shelton, his niece Abby Whitlock, his granddaughter, Autumn Shelton, his mother Emma S. Cagg-Shelton and step father, Alvin Collins, his brothers; Johnny (Tabitha) Shelton, his sister Jenny (Tommy) Hamblen, his sisters-in-law; Keli Whitlock , Renee Benson , Penny, Lane, his brothers-in-law; William Whitlock, and all his of his extended family and friends. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, 12:00pm-2:00pm followed by a graveside service immediately following visitation at West Newton Cemetery-West Newton Indiana.
