Barbara Ruth Pitcher,
84, of Indianapolis, passed away on August 13, 2016. She was born in Indianapolis on July 22, 1932 to the late Roscoe and Ethel (Day) Lickliter. Barbara was a fun loving woman who loved camping, playing Yahtzee and Bingo, and spending time with her family. She had many adventures in her life including falling in love with a man from a carnival and taking her family to Kansas one year, she worked in an office, as a bartender, and later went back to school to become a beautician. She wasn’t afraid to tell it like it was, but always took care to make sure her family was together and felt loved each and every Christmas. She was a loving and caring person, and will be missed by all.
Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, Charles Lickliter, Kenny Lickliter, Alma Lickliter; her grandson, Jason Finley; and her son-in-law, William “Willy” Hawkins. She is survived by her children; Linda Smith (Louis), Robert “Bob” Finley (Tommie), Cristy Sweeney (Tom), Tammie Kraning (Ron); her grandchildren; Lisa McDermott (Clyde), Scott Smith (Tracy), Carrie Longfellow (Chad), David Smith (Debbie), Kenny Smith, Bob Finley, Jr., Heather Butterfield, Thomas “Tommy” Sweeney (Joanna), Barbara Hawkins, and Kristal Hawkins; her 19 great-grandchildren, and her 16 great-great-grandchildren.
