Barbara Joan "Joann" Dietz

Barbara Joan (JoAnn) Dietz, 89, was called home April 13, 2021. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Fred, and parents, Joseph E. and Edith Louise (Hoppe) Johnston. JoAnn was born Sept. 3 in Poplar Bluff, Mo. She moved to Indianapolis with parents and younger sisters, Doris (Koeppe) and Helen (Bradbury) following high school graduation the summer of 1949. From her early career years at Bryant Heating and Cooling to Englewood Christian Church, Second Presbyterian Church, Sunnyside Guild, Indiana National Bank and Indy Runners she brought joy and found herself blessed with a full life and many treasured friendships. JoAnn loved to sing, dance, running, a Saturday morning walk with friends at Eagle Creek, outdoor concerts, her flowers and made the very best cherry pie and birthday cake. She is survived by her sisters, son Scott, daughter Karla Kennedy (Bobby), grandson Eric Kennedy, many much loved nieces and nephews, and her flower garden.
Memorial contributions may be made to the organization of your choice. Visitation will be held at Flanner Buchanan-Broad Ripple, 1305 Broad Ripple Ave. Indianapolis, IN 46220, from 4-7pm on Saturday April 24, 2021. A memorial service will be held on Monday April 26, 2021 at 11am at Second Presbyterian Church, 7700 N Meridian St, Indianapolis, IN 46260. The church will be livestreaming the service here
