Barbara Mangus-Hopkins, 81, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2018. She was born on March 27, 1937 in Indianapolis, IN to the late George and Gladys Cannon. She attended John Herron Art Institute. Barbara’s devotion to art was contagious and she continued to paint daily even though she started losing her sight over 10 years ago. Her motto was “Enjoy Life, Keep Painting, God Bless and Do Not Give up.” She is survived by her son, Douglas (Angela) Mangus; granddaughters Robin Lynn Mangus and Olivia Mangus; brother George (Margaret) Cannon; sister Rosanna Howard; nieces Sally Hunter, Michelle Conner, Sarah Cannon and nephew Michael Howard. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert Keene, and sons David and Robert Mangus. A celebration of life will be held October 13, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. at The Art Bank 811 Massachusetts Ave Indianapolis, IN 46204 Memorial gifts may be made to the Bosma Visionary Opportunities Foundation (Attn: Arvetta Jideonwo 6270 Corporate Drive Indianapolis, IN 46278).
