Anthony “Hank” Anderson, of Lafayette, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at the age of 87.
Hank was born in Lafayette, Indiana on November 15, 1932 to Charles and Ruth Anderson. He grew up in Lafayette and attended Jeff High School. Upon his graduation, Hank went on to earn his bachelor’s degree in Business from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University. During his attendance at Indiana University, Hank was a member of the Phi Kappa fraternity.
Hank married Suzanne Morey in 1957, and from this Union, four daughters were born; Debbie Anderson, Carolyn Anderson, Mary Anderson, and Patty Willett (Steve).
Hank served in the United States Air Force in the fifties, earning the rank of Captain before he was Honorably discharged from his duties. If you knew him, he would gladly share stories of chasing the Russians in the B52 Bomber, of which he was proudly the navigator.
In 1973, Hank and Paula Anderson Kiraly were married. Together they had a hers and ours family and raised Michal Anderson Mellencamp (Phil), Robert Anderson (Trish), and Jennifer Anderson Voyak (Jason).
Hank was an entrepreneur, he started Marketing Engineers, a successful electronic representative company. He was an avid member of AA for over 45 years. He enjoyed refurbishing his 1963 Cor-Vair convertible, was an avid runner, and participated in several Indy 500 Mini-Marathons. He was an active member of St. Alphonsus Church in Zionsville, Indiana and was proudly involved in the Knights of Columbus.
Hank was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Ruth Anderson, his brother, Charles Anderson, Jr., his first wife, Suzanne Anderson, and his grandson Paul Forcht.
He leaves behind his 6 daughters and 1 son, 15 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
