Anna Faye Thompson

Anna Faye (Kennedy) Thompson, 99, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 in Ocoee, Florida. She was born on May 31, 1923 in Carlisle, IN to the late Chester Paul and Lola Marie (Gordon) Kennedy.

Anna met her husband-to-be, Kenneth Thompson, when they were children; she was best friends with his sister, Joy. She & Ken were married on May 26, 1945. She worked as a secretary at E.I. Dupont early in their marriage and later worked as a secretary/accountant for the Clay Conner Insurance Agency. When Ken started his own business, she also helped him with his office work.

God gave them 3 children, and Anna loved being a mother (and later a grandmother and great-grandmother). Her other great loves were Jesus Christ- her Savior, her husband, and her church. She and Ken were active in the life and ministry of Second Reformed Presbyterian Church for more than 50 years. Anna was also active in the Brown County Women’s Retreats, couples’ conferences, and Creative Living Bible Study.

Anna will be remembered as a gracious and godly wife, mother, and friend. She loved to play board/card games, and she was quite the competitor! She also had a beautiful ministry of sending cards to friends and family for holidays, birthdays, and anniversaries-each card with scripture and a handwritten note for encouragement.

Anna was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Kenneth L. Thompson, and her grandson, Luke Thompson.

She is survived by her children, Joe (Rosie) Thompson, Mike (Deb) Thompson, and Nancy (Doug) Jesch; 11 grandchildren, and 28 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 5, at 12 noon at the Second Reformed Presbyterian Church, 4800 N. Michigan Rd., Indianapolis, IN with visitation at the church beginning at 11 am. Anna will be laid to rest next to her husband in Washington Park North Cemetery.
