Anita Ellen Hudson

March 25, 1955 — April 27, 2020

Indianapolis, IN

Anita Ellen Hudson, the daughter of the late Theodore and Wilma Mitchell was born March 25, 1955. Anita received her early education from the IPS school system and graduated from Arsenal Technical High School.
Anita was baptized at an early age and continued her faith in God.

Anita loved being around family. She loved spending quality time with her husband James. She also liked hanging out and spending quality time with her daughter Nichelle and family time with her sister Janis. She enjoyed traveling and having new adventures, which normally resulted in some charming persuasion to get James to come along. There was never a dull moment as she was the life of the party in a very subtle way. She was very smart, loving, poised and well put together, one who rarely missed a hair or nail appointment. However, her inner beauty far exceeded her external beauty.

On one blessed day in September 1993, Anita and James met the love of their lives. Several years later they were united in holy matrimony. Their relationship was built on love, trust, endless support of each other which led them to being both best friends and soul mates. You could always catch them making breakfast together on Saturdays, or going to Cracker Barrel if she didn’t feel like cooking, before doing their grocery store run. She also enjoyed fine dining and going to her favorite restaurants, Rize and Ruth Chris.

Anita retired from I.U. Health as a Senior Buyer after 40 plus years of employment. During her professional career she took on numerous jobs and promotions while enjoying her coworkers.

Anita departed this life on April 27th, 2020. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband James Hudson, daughter, Nichelle (Tyrone) Carr, son Jeremy Hudson and sister Janis (Marvin) Fields, brother Michael Mitchell, sister-in-laws Hilda (Monte) Trammer of St. Petersburg, FL, Beverly (Timothy) Holmes, Charles (Theresa) Hudson of Phoenix, AZ, nephew Mark (Beatrice) Fields, niece Brandi (Anthony) Fields, and a host of other relatives and friends.
